Camerawork
Artist is more predominantly seen when singing higher or longer notes, this makes artist seem more talented and promotes them more. This is what music videos are essentially for, to promote the artist and gain exposure for them and the record label company. linking back to Goodwin's Theory. Examples are throughout the video of this such as toward the beginning when he first starts singing and when he is walking with the girl.
The camera angles are putting the artist in the position of power, whilst this doesn't link to any theories, it infers that the artist is the dominant figure in the video, this is done by using low angle and mid-shots of the artist. Seeing the artist from below makes the audience look up at him, therefore viewing him as a more powerful character. This gives the impression that he belongs as the highlight of the video, once again causing the audience to focus on him.
Wide shots are used to establish the scene from a distance, such as the establishing at the beginning of the video showing the supermarket, everyday mundane setting makes audience feel relatable to the artist, triggering Dyer's Paradox 1 Theory, that the artist is represented as similar to their target audience.
