Magazine Advert Analyses
A magazine advert is a visual form of advertisement in which an artist and their music is presented to gain exposure. This is done to inform people of upcoming events or new releases in the hopes that they will buy the product or attend the event. All genres of music incorporate magazine adverts into their market scheme as it is an effective way of raising the profile of the artist. They are sometimes aimed at a specific audience but in most cases they are made to be as universal as possible, so as to increase the range of people that may find it interesting and therefore widen the target audience. All magazine adverts differ, however there are trends and conventions depending on which genre the artist on the advert is based in. Most magazine adverts for artists are found in suitable and appropiate places, such as at concerts or in a music magazine. This is helpful to the artists as it ensures that the advert is being viewed by people who are most likely to take an interest in the advertisement. Magazine adverts can present a range of things, they usually include tour dates and locations of the artist's next tour, also, they may advertise an upcoming album or collaboration between two artists. All this is done to increase the exposure of the artist and, ultimately, increase their sales.

Camerawork
The camerawork in the poster is simple but effective, it shows the artist at a medium distance by using a mid shot. This is effective because it shows the viewer what activity the arist is engaging in and allows the viewer to get a better sense of the scene before the. IN the contrast to this, the artist does not seem to be engaging in actvity except standing to the side and gazing into the distance, this raises questions for the viewer of the advert and also creates a sense of mystery. As with most magazine adverts, the artist is the focus, the camera is showing him directly in the middle and so he is what catches the eye more than anything. This links to Dyer's Star Theory as the star is in the spotlight and is trying to increase his fame by gaining exposure.

Editing
The editing in the video is shown in the background where there are multiple lines in black shown. This contrasts the plain white background and makes the advert stand out to the viewer by creating a colour difference. The whole picture is slightly edited as it is in a Sepia effect and is Black and White, this is not a very common convention in terms of POP magazine adverts as they are usually colourful and bright to draw the audience in. This dark undertone makes the mood seem more serious which relates to Dyer's Paradox 1, in which the star is made to seem like a regular person, so the audience can relate to him more easily.
